"Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise in the assembly of the saints.
Let them praise his name with dancing, and make music to him with the tambourine and harp."

Psalm 149: 1, 3

King David Christian Conservatory recently took a team of 13 performing arts missionaries to the inner city of Philadelphia.  Ranging in age from 11-47, team members worked in conjunction with the Urban Resource Center and were active in street evangelism, gospel sharing, tract distribution, and ministry to the elderly and to the homeless.  In a city highly laden with crime, the team went in with a message of hope and salvation to the hurting population.

Work projects around the host church and mission home began the day, and then team members went into severely underprivileged neighborhoods drawing the children out to play.  After spending time in fun and games, painting faces, and jumping rope, they presented action songs, dances, hand bell numbers, and sign language participation pieces to help children begin to understand who Jesus is.  Followed up with a Bible story, scripture, and clear presentation of the gospel, both children and adults in attendance received witnessing bracelets to remind them of the truth they’d just heard.  Conservatory staff and students prayed one-on-one with each person present, with many receiving Jesus as Savior.  Often team members were begged not to leave or to come back the next day.

Ministry also took place at the Sunday Breakfast Mission, a men’s shelter in Philadelphia.  The team conducted chapel for the men and then served them lunch.  Rounding out a full day of activities, evenings were spent in area nursing homes both in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, visiting with and presenting a complete program for the elderly and infirm.

Members of King David Christian Conservatory regularly minister in their hometown Charlotte community as well.  For more information on a King David presentation, please call 704-845-9116.
